Dave Humphreys, a resident and chairperson of the Foundation Advisory Committee at Oak Trace in Downers Grove, Illinois, shares Candy’s affinity for the place he calls home, and is a second-generation resident. Dave’s mother was a resident of Oak Trace when it first opened as Fairview Village. Dave lived nearby and visited regularly, so the community felt like home. When he retired, he knew Oak Trace was the place for him, even though he was and is still working part-time. In addition to promoting monthly giving as an option among residents, Dave himself gives monthly to the Foundation in his community. “Giving monthly is important to me because I understand the mission of The Foundation,” he said. “I feel it is one of the ways that we meet the needs and the dreams of my fellow residents and team members. Even if you don’t have a lot to give, every bit we give helps.”
